An outstanding Special needs school for secondary age pupils on the Autistic spectrum is currently looking for an exceptional teacher to join their school in September.
You will be joining the school to teach a class of up to 8 pupils with Autism. All pupils will be secondary age, but you will be teaching KS2 / KS3 curriculums. You will be required to teach across all subject areas across the curriculum and adapt activities to allow the pupils in your class to access learning and make appropriate progress. You will be supported by 2 – 3 teaching assistants within your class. You should have a highly-professional, caring and committed approach to teaching pupils with Autism.
This outstanding secondary co-educational school is for students aged 11-19 with a primary diagnosis of Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. They offer an broad and balanced curriculum that encourages independence, improved communication and social interaction alongside appropriately differentiated academic learning. There are a range of facilities that offer opportunities akin to larger secondary schools alongside specialist sensory rooms, and outdoor learning environments. The school works closely with parents and carers and there is excellent communication and support provided. Staff in the school are able to access training and development regularly to ensure they have the most up to date knowledge, methods and approaches to effectively support learners with autism.
