A large, diverse junior school in the heart of north London are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school to support two students in year 6.

The Role

In this role you will be working within the year 6 team supporting two pupils with special educational needs. Both pupils have autism and are academically able but require support to concentrate on tasks and regulate their emotions. You will support one child in the morning and the other in the afternoon with a focus on supporting them as they prepare for SATS in May. Whilst the role is a 1 to 1 support position, the school would like the children to develop independence and so you will work with larger groups and other pupils whilst being available to return to the child you are supporting as required.

This role is offered on a full-time contract basis from September 2024 until July 2025. The hours are 8.30pm – 4.00pm.

Pupils are effectively supported to make progress academically as well as personally and socially. The school is deemed ‘good’ by Ofsted and there is good CPD available. The school is close to Crouch End with good local bus links.
