In this role you will be supporting 2 pupils with Special Educational Needs. Both children have diagnosed ADHD and require support in lessons. You will be supporting them in the mornings only for academic lessons with a focus on literacy. One pupil is in year 4 and the other is in year 5. Whilst you will primarily be supporting the pupils to complete work set for the whole class, there may be time when you are asked to support them on an individual basis outside of the classroom or in small groups.
The hours for this role are 8.45am – 12.30 Monday – Friday.
The school are looking for a teaching assistant who has previously worked with children with special needs either in a school or another environment. You will need to be able commit to the school for the full academic year.
This large 3-form entry inclusive primary school is based in Winchmore Hill, Enfield and is easily by car and public transport. The school has a larger than usual site and takes advantage of a wonderful outdoor space including sports area and a mini farm. The school’s curriculum encourages pupils to use their imagination and creativity and pupils are engaged in learning. Behaviour at the school is very good and there are high expectations of pupils and staff alike. The school has a good leadership team in place including a SENCO who works hard to ensure all pupils have the support they need to succeed.
