A welcoming and modern school in Thamesmead are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school on a full-time basis from September.
We are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in reception with Autism at a primary school in Thamesmead. The child needs support to focus during carpet sessions and access play-based learning in a safe and positive way. Your role will include delivering 1 to 1 interventions based on communication, language development, stage 1 / 2 phonics and reading . you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and you will have daily communication with the child’s parents. You will be involved in observations, assessments and feedback on the child’s learning plan.
The position is to start in September and is offered on a contract basis until July 2022.
The school is part of a small multi academy trust with 3 school across Greenwich. The school which you will based in is in Thamesmead and is accessible by car and local train/bus links. As a 1 form entry site, teachers and support staff work closely together. Results at early years, key stage 1 and 2 are consistently above national proving teaching and learning to be effective. The school is popular within the local community and there is a culture of working closely with parents. The school has high expectations of both pupils and staff and there are good opportunities for professional development.
