A specialist SEN secondary school in Barking are currently seeking to appoint an strong and experienced SEN Teacher to work with KS4 students with ASD.
The Role
In this role you will be teaching a small class of male pupils with ASD in KS4. The group needs a teacher who has a good understanding of Autism who can provide structure, routines and appropriate learning. You will be responsible for planning age appropriate activities which incorporate life skills and other additional learning opportunities whilst also giving pupils time for energy breaks. Some pupils can demonstrate challenging behaviour and you should have experience in positive management techniques to motivate students. There is a team of specialist teaching assistants already working within the group who are very supportive. You will be supported by the established senior management team in the school.
