A small independent SEN school in Ilford are currently seeking to appoint an qualified, experienced, and highly-skilled SEN Teacher to work with students with autism and SEMH.
In this role you will be responsible for teaching a small class of students with SEN and SEMH ( 4 to 5 pupils maximum). Students are aged from 10 – 17 years old. You will develop and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and tailor lessons based on each child’s individual needs. You will work with other professionals to support the students in reaching their full potential. The school have an established and experienced support team in place and you will have additional learning support assistants in the classroom at all times. Some pupils will demonstrate challenging behaviour and you should have experience in de-escalation strategies and positive management techniques to motivate students.
The school is a small independent SEN specialist provision which has a maximum capacity of 5 pupils for boarding and schooling. The school is rated good by Ofsted and staff are committed to bringing out the best in each pupil. They provide strong levels of support for pupils’ emotional and social needs and academic learning is enhanced by enrichment opportunities outside the setting. The school has a principle of PACE (Playful, Accepting, Curious, Empathetic) which informs their overall strategy.
