A lovely primary school in Westminster are looking for a dedicated learning support assistant to join them on a contract basis from September to support a pupil with ASD.
In this role you will be working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 boy with autism and social, emotional and mental health difficulties who attends the school’s autism resource base within the mainstream school. The young boy is intelligent, keen to interact with others and has a good sense of humour. Due to his autism and SEMH needs he presents with extremely challenging behaviour which can involve swearing, being physically and verbally aggressive to those around him. At times he requires 2:1 adult support.
The position would be for September until the young boy is placed in a more appropriate setting.
To apply for this position you will need to be trained in some form of physical intervention (like safer handling, approach or Team Teach) and able to attend work consistently Monday to Friday.
