A highly regarded secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join its successful Science department from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is committed to delivering engaging and inspiring Science lessons. Applications are welcomed from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time opportunities.
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop curiosity, scientific thinking, and a strong understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The Role
As a Teacher of Science, you will:
Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Inspire students through practical investigations and scientific enquiry.
Plan and deliver lessons that challenge, engage and support learners of all abilities.
Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
Develop students’ analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can achieve their potential.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Support enrichment opportunities including STEM activities, Science clubs, competitions and educational visits.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4.
The ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stage 3, with a specialism in one Science subject welcomed.
Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
High expectations of student achievement and progress.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
The ability to contribute positively to a successful Science department.
