We are currently looking for a financial professional who has both payroll and bookkeeping experience to join our team. The role is offered on a part-time 3 days-a-week basis with the set days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. As Philosophy Education is a growing business there may be future potential for the role to grow to more days in the future.
Duties & Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
- Purchase ledger – processing supplier invoices
- Bank reconciliations/supplier statement reconciliations
- Sales Ledger – process customer remittances
Payroll
- Communicating with new starters to acquire new starter forms
- Setting up new starters in Sage (import function available)
- Preparing payroll file for import into Sage payroll software
- Processing weekly payroll for currently around 300 temporary workers using Sage payroll software
- Importing payroll data
- Process holiday pay, SMP, SPP, attachments as required
- Producing weekly reports
- Upload payslips to online portal
- Exporting pension data, uploading data into Nest, set up new enrolled employees into Nest
- Upload Nest pension documentation to online portal
Key Skills
- Weekly payroll experience
- Experience in book keeping
- Good accounting software knowledge and experience, including Sage 50 payroll / Sage Accounting
- Experienced Excel user and proficient in other MS office product
- Relevant qualifications
- Proactive and self-motivated with excellent system skills
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
