A large primary school in Hillingdon are looking for Learning Support Assistants to support children with special educational needs within the school from September 2025.

The Role

In this role you will be providing 1 to 1 personalised support for a pupil within the school with special educational needs. The child you will be working with will have an EHCP or be in the process of assessment for EHCP and will have a support plan in place. You will work closely with the school’s SENCO and teachers to enable the pupils to access learning and development activities, interact with peers and take part in whole class and whole school events as appropriate.

Your role will involve care as well as educational/developmental support. You will need to be confident in providing personal care, physical support and managing challenging behaviour.

The children identified as requiring this level of support are primarily based in early years and KS1 within the school. The school will determine which child would be the best fit for you to support based on your skills and experience. This will be covered with the open day.

The school are open to applications from Learning Support Assistants with previous experience in schools/care settings, or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector.
