In this role you will be supporting a pupil in reception who is new to the school. The child has Autism and requires continuous support throughout the day. The child has little to no communication skills and therefore uses Makaton to communicate. The school are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has been trained in Makaton or has a very good working knowledge.
Within your role you will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to prepare suitable learning activities and interventions. You will be required to report on the child’s progress and be involved in meetings relating to the child’s needs and be included in sessions with outside therapists and professionals to provide support and consistency.
This role is offered on a full-time basis and the school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
