A lovely opportunity has just become available for 2 experienced Learning Support assistants to join a vibrant inner London primary school in Camden on a full-time basis for the rest of the academic year
The school have two children with additional needs starting in reception who require 1 to 1 support during the school day. Both children have identified Autism and in addition one child is also diabetic. Each child will require their own full-time Learning Support Assistant to help them access whole class carpet sessions, play-based learning and integrate in to school life. You will be supporting the pupil throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher , SENCO, parents and external support agencies.
The school are ideally looking for Learning Support Assistants who have worked with children with Autism before. The Learning Support Assistant who support the child who is diabetic will receive training in how to support the diabetes from the school. Both children require structure and consistency and therefore you will need to be able to commit to the role on a long-term basis.
Initial interviews will take place via zoom with the EYFS/KS1 co-ordinator. If successful at interview you will be invited for a trial day at the school.
This is a full-time position via the agency initially although there is a possibility for the role to become permanent after a period of time.
are looking for a passionate and caring teaching assistant to work with a pupil with autism in their year 1 class. The pupil is able to communicate through speech, but has language delay and requires support with speech and language development activities. You will also be supporting him to develop his fine motor skills as these are delayed too.
The role is offered on an ongoing contract basis initially until July 2022.
