The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND department to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their personal best.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support students with SEND both within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s behaviour policy.
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team and external professionals.
Assist with monitoring student progress and recording observations.
Provide pastoral support and help create a safe, positive learning environment.
Support students during breaktimes, educational visits and school activities where required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school environment.
Experience supporting students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties, is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, caring and resilient approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
