In this role you will be based in the schools reception class working with 1 or 2 pupils at any one time. Pupils in the class have Social Emotional and Mental Health needs and are being assessed for ECHPs. You will work alongside an experienced Teacher supporting the child in a classroom environment. You will need to be approachable and patient and be able to build a strong rapport with the child and have a good understanding of the EYFS. You will receive support from the senior leadership team and therapists emotional and behavioural support. Experience in similar settings is essential, along with a calm and resilient approach.
This is a full-time contract role until the end of the academic year. The school are looking for a qualified HLTA (level 4) or an unqualified teacher with experience supporting SEMH pupils.
This Alternative provision is part of a specialist academy trust which provides specialist support for pupils who are unable to access mainstream education. They have a culture of resilience, compassion and innovation with a true drive to ensure every learner reaches their full potential. This setting in Fulham has a total of 16 places for primary and secondary age children who experience difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. Some pupils have an EHCP in place whilst others are at risk of being (or have been) permanently excluded. The school follows the national curriculum alongside a range of extracurricular activities to enhance their learning. The school uses their own Behaviour for Learning framework which is based on the relationship with self, others and curriculum, and promotes positive learning behaviours inside and outside the classroom. The school is easily accessible by bus and tube.
