A large and popular school are opening a new specialist Autism Resourced Provision (ARP) in October and are looking for an HLTA to provide support teaching across the provision.
In this role you will be part of a specialist team of educators working in the Autism Resourced Provision (ARP). You will work under the direction of the lead teacher to support the pupils in lessons and provide general support in the running of the unit. All pupils attending the provision will be low-functioning on the Autism spectrum and vary in age and needs. Your role will include working with pupils on 1 to 1 basis as well as leading small groups. You may be required to lead some whole class sessions alongside other support workers in the unit to cover PPA and release time.
The ARP is currently being built as a separate unit within the site of an existing primary school. Once completed, the school will initially offer provision for up to 12 pupils with Autism and will have the capacity for up to 24 pupils over the next 12 – 18 months.
This role is to start in September, although pupils will not be joining the ARP until late October. During the first month, you will be provided with training and work within one of the sister school’s provision for children with autism. If you are able to start sooner, the school are able to offer the role in June/July in a sister ARP provision within the partnership.

This brand new Autism Resourced Provision (ARP) will be part of a welcoming, fully inclusive school within a schools partnership. The executive headteacher is extremely experienced and well placed to offer senior level leadership across the provision. There is a committed staff who work well together as a cohesive, supportive team. CPD is a core part of the partnership and all staff are encouraged and supported to access training and development opportunities. Within the partnership there are two other Autism Resourced Provisions. You will have access to and closely work with the teams in these provisions. There are excellent, modern facilities at the school including a sports hall, large field and play spaces, woodland, and on-site gym facilities.
