We are currently recruiting a graduate teaching assistant to work in a primary school in Abbey Wood.
In this role you will be working in Year 2 and Year 4 to support two pupils with additional learning needs. In the mornings you will work with a pupil in year 2 who has Autism. The pupil is able to access the learning in lessons, but requires support to focus on tasks and interacting with other pupils. In the afternoons you will support a pupil in year 4 who is currently working below the expected level and needs support in lessons and with some intervention sessions in reading, English and Maths.
The school are looking for a confident and dedicated graduate teaching assistant to fulfill this role. You should have experience working with children, although previous experience with SEND is not essential as support will be provided by the school
The school is part of a federation of schools across the borough of Greenwich. The school which you will based in is located close mainland rail stations with local bus links. As a 2 form entry site, teachers and teaching assistants within the year group work closely together in planning and assessment for their respective year groups. The school is popular within the local community and there is a culture of working closely with parents. They have a focus on closing the gap for disadvantaged pupils and provide a broad range of extra-curriculum opportunities.
