Teaching Assistant
Are you a recent graduate considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, social work or a child-focused profession?
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and aspiring educators looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or further study.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the primary age range, working alongside experienced teachers to help children achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
No school experience is required, but we are keen to hear from candidates who have worked with children or young people through coaching, tutoring, youth work, holiday clubs, sports clubs, mentoring, scouts/guides, childcare or community projects.
You will gain hands-on experience supporting learning, behaviour, social development and classroom activities while learning from experienced education professionals.
The school is looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with children or young people in any capacity.
• Is enthusiastic, energetic and keen to make a positive impact.
• Builds positive relationships quickly with pupils and staff.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is resilient, proactive and willing to learn.
• Is considering a future career in education or a child-focused profession.
• Holds a degree or is currently studying towards one (desirable but not essential).
The School
This inclusive and supportive primary school is committed to developing both its pupils and staff. New Teaching Assistants receive ongoing guidance and support, making it an excellent environment for graduates looking to gain meaningful school-based experience.
The school has a strong track record of helping aspiring teachers and education professionals develop their skills, with opportunities to gain experience across different year groups and areas of need.
Whether you’re considering teacher training, educational psychology, SEND support or another child-centred career, this role provides an excellent foundation and the chance to make a genuine difference every day.
If this role is of interest, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.
We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
