This role is to work with a child in the early years foundation stage who has diagnosed autism. You will be providing 1 to 1 support throughout the day in both carpet sessions and during play based learning activities. Within your role you will need to provide some 1 to 1 interventions based around the child’s needs. These will be primarily based on speech and language, communication, emotional development and fine and gross motor skills. The school follows the read, write inc phonics programme and you will be involved in teaching and leading small groups in phonics. The school are looking for an early years educator with a level 3 qualification. Previous experience working with children with ASD is desirable although as a large Academy chain there is access to training and professional development courses to aid your practice.
This role is offered on a contract basis from September 2021 – July 2022. The school are offering an initial trial in the first week of September for this position.
