A large, welcoming academy are looking for 6 full-time class teaching assistants to join their team from September 2022
The Role
The school are looking for multiple teaching assistants to work across both KS1 and KS2. In the mornings you will be based within a classroom providing learning support to pupils working at all levels. Your role will include supporting the teacher with administrative duties, preparing lessons and activities and covering break duties. In the afternoons you will be delivering maths/phonics/literacy interventions, teaching small groups of 5-8 students. In these sessions you will cover topics learned in class the previous week to support those children who had gaps in their learning. This is a excellent role for a graduate who is looking to go in to a career as a primary teacher as you will gain direct teaching experience alongside whole class support.
There are excellent long-term opportunities as the school also have the ability to offer School Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).
The Academy
This large all-through academy is based in Edgware, with good local transport links and a popular choice for families in the local area. Alongside their main Secondary Academy they have created a smaller self-contained Primary Academy. In this specially designed building pupils have the best of both worlds with a quiet space away from the main academy to grow and develop with facilities specifically designed for younger children, but with the benefits of the resources of the secondary phase. There is a strong leadership team in place within the Primary Academy and staff and pupils enjoy a smaller, community atmosphere. There are good opportunities for professional development across the academy so this is a great option for graduates and those looking to further their career in education.
