A specialist SEN secondary school in Redbridge are currently seeking to appoint an strong and experienced SEN Teacher to work with primary age pupils with ASD.
In this role you will be teaching a small class of ASC children. The class needs a teacher who has a good understanding of Autism who can provide structure, routines and appropriate learning. The pupils have sensory processing needs and may display some challenging behaviour. This class will be following an informal curriculum and strategies need to be in place for ASC learners. The school would ideally like to appoint a teacher who has experience and knowledge in implementing these strategies.
There is a team of specialist teaching assistants already working within the class who are very supportive. You will be supported by the established senior management team in the school.
The school expect all teachers to be willing to care for learners’ needs including intimate care, personal care and feeding needs and require teachers to be familiar and to be hands on in supporting pupils with any manual handling for their physio programmes.
This role is offered on a full-time academic year contract initially and will be paid to scale.
