
A well-respected and highly inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career and take on greater responsibility within a specialist support setting.
The Role
As Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school’s SEND Hub, supporting pupils who require additional help to access learning successfully.
The Hub provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for children with a range of needs, including Autism, Social, emotional, and behavioural needs, Communication difficulties and Sensory processing needs.
Pupils may access the Hub in different ways depending on their needs. Some may spend longer periods within the provision following tailored activities, while others may attend throughout the day for short-term support, sensory breaks, emotional regulation, or targeted interventions before returning to class.
The Hub also plays an important role in supporting wider classroom provision by providing flexible intervention and regulation support where needed.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring a calm, proactive, and adaptable approach, alongside the confidence to lead sessions and coordinate support staff effectively.
