The Role
This is a full-time position supporting a young child with significant behavioural and learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support both in and out of the classroom. The role involves managing challenging behaviour, helping to de-escalate situations when necessary, and offering consistent emotional and academic support.
The ideal candidate
The school is looking for an individual who is confident, patient, and proactive — someone who can build trust and rapport with the child while maintaining clear boundaries and structure. Experience in a school or care setting is highly desirable, though the school is also open to applications from individuals with a genuine passion for working with children with special needs and a commitment to making a positive impact.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and gain valuable experience within a nurturing school environment.
The School
This welcoming and nurturing primary academy is set in a rural location on the Bromley borders, serving a close-knit community. With strong, supportive relationships between staff, pupils, and families, the school offers an atmosphere where children are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Set within expansive grounds, the school offers a rich learning environment with access to excellent facilities, including ICT suites, dedicated art spaces, gym halls, and a large sports field. Staff benefit from the guidance of a skilled and approachable leadership team that places a strong emphasis on wellbeing, collaboration, and continuous professional development both within the school and the wider academy trust.
We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
