We are looking for teaching assistants across London to work on a full-time and supply basis in a range of London primary schools for the summer term.
We have Teaching Assistant opportunities across all primary age groups (EYFS/KS1/KS2). As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting children and teachers in a variety of ways.
In the early years (3 – 5) you will support children with play based learning, early reading and phonics and learning numbers and letters.
In the primary age groups (KS1/KS2), you will be based in a more structured classroom supporting children to access learning activities across English, Maths and various other subjects.
Many of the roles we have are for teaching assistants to work with a specific child or children with special educational needs (SEND). This will involve building relationships with them, adjusting activities and helping them to focus in class and work with other children. Whilst an understanding of SEND is helpful, many of our teaching assistants gain experience on the job and with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders in their placements.
Teaching Assistants are required for the full school day – 8.30am to 4.00pm (approx)
Flexible work options
We have full-time Teaching Assistant contracts starting from September in primary schools across London.
We are also looking for Primary Teaching Assistants to work on a more flexible cover basis with immediate starts. This is ideal if you just want to work a few days in local primary schools, or want to build experience across various year groups. Supply Teaching Assistant work can be provided in advance and first thing in the morning to cover absences.
What do I need to be a Teaching Assistant?
You do not need any formal qualifications to be a Teaching Assistant, but we do require you to have had some experience working with children. Teaching Assistant work is ideal for:
You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (don’t worry if you haven’t got one, we can help you get one) and 2 references covering the past two years.
Most importantly you need a caring, dedicated and professional approach to working with young children.
Once you have completed our online registration, we will get all your paperwork sorted so you can start work as soon as possible. This normally takes around 7 days.
This all sounds great. How do I sign up to start working in primary schools?
Just press ‘Apply Now’ and our friendly team will be in contact in the new year.
We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
